Campuhan Ridge Walk is one of Ubud's most beloved morning rituals. The paved path begins at Pura Gunung Lebah — a 10th-century temple at the river confluence — and rises gently for two kilometres along a narrow ridge, flanked by groves of alang-alang grass, terraced gardens, and traditional family compounds. The trail rewards walkers with uninterrupted panoramas across the Campuhan valley: deep green ravines, silver rivers catching the early light, and the haze-softened hills of central Bali stretching to the horizon. Sunrise and early morning are ideal — the air is cool, the light is luminous gold, and the path is quietest before 8 a.m. The walk ends near the artist community of Bangkiang Sidem, home to several notable ateliers and studios. Many walkers follow the path through working rice fields back to Jalan Raya Ubud, making a satisfying 3-kilometre loop. Good walking shoes are recommended as the path can be slippery after rain.
